About HRRSHW

HOWRAH RAMKRISHNAPUR RUBI SOCIETY FOR HUMAN WELFARE (erstwhile Rubi Society and Research Centre) is a non-profit NGO. Established on 09 August 2020 with the interest to help people at the time of need. The aim of this NGO is to reorganize the underprivileged backward individuals. Majority of the members are from Anthropology background and a good number of persons are from Nursing profession. Being student of Anthropology, we used to understand the problems of the people by understanding their culture and identifying the underlying meaning of their practices. We used to recognize their behavior from their perception and worldview. First-hand contact and rapport building are very important in this regard. The Nursing practitioners used to focus on health care in terms of cure and care. They are not only attending the patients, but also take responsibility of those people who didn’t get proper care. Their role is very important for the awareness of health and hygiene of a community. We are interested to conduct research works on different social aspects. It is also a goal of this NGO to understand the actual context and the individuals in a subjective way. This will help the policy makers for the overall development of a group or a community as well. We used to work on health and hygiene issues and nutritional aspects of the marginalized underprivileged children, women, transgender and elderly people. One of our objectives is to empower the underprivileged women, transgender and local youth and provide them vocational training also.
